Following victories against the Punjab Kings on Saturday and the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday, Mayank Yadav, the 21-year-old fast bowler for the Lucknow Super Giants, has quickly made a name for himself as one of the top performers in the league. He has clinched two Player-of-the-Match awards in his first two IPL matches, holds the record for the most deliveries above 155 kilometers per hour in the IPL, and boasts the fourth fastest delivery in the history of the league at 156.7 kilometers per hour.

During his remarkable spell of 3 for 14 in four overs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Mayank Yadav dismissed Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green, both accustomed to fast-paced pitches in Australia. Additionally, he claimed the wicket of the well-set Rajat Patidar.
After LSG's 28-run triumph over RCB, Mayank expressed, "I'm thrilled about winning both matches, but receiving two Player-of-the-Match awards in two games feels really special." He added, "My main aim is to serve our country to the best of my abilities for as long as possible. This is just the start, and staying focused is my priority." Mayank highlighted that his favorite wicket was that of Green, where the ball bounced off the stumps and over the boundary on its first bounce, despite Green being beaten on the outside edge.

"To bowl at this pace, you need various factors such as diet, sleep, and training," Mayank emphasized. "Maintaining excellence in every aspect is essential if you want to bowl fast. My top priorities are my nutrition and recovery, which involves taking ice baths."

As Mayank continued to claim wickets, LSG captain KL Rahul revealed that one of his deliveries had struck his gloves "really, really hard." "I'm absolutely delighted with Mayank's recent bowling performances in the last few matches. Despite being in the dugout for two seasons, he has patiently waited and remained calm," remarked Rahul. "Unfortunately, he suffered an injury last year and missed out. However, he has been putting in a lot of effort with the physiotherapists in Mumbai." Rahul added, "He understands the challenges of bowling at such high speeds. Having endured a few injuries at a young age, he knows the risks involved. I enjoy watching him bowl from just 20 yards behind the stumps; he possesses an incredible temperament. When he's on the bowling crease, I want to be right there!"

"We're thrilled to have him as part of the team. He's an excellent bowler," remarked de Kock. "Usually, young fast bowlers get caught up in various distractions, but he's keeping things simple and excelling admirably." RCB skipper Faf du Plessis noted that it's difficult for batsmen to evaluate and adjust quickly to the "new action" of a young fast bowler.

"Particularly when there's pace behind it, it's very encouraging," du Plessis remarked. "It usually takes a few attempts for batsmen to adapt to a bowler's action and understand how the ball is released from their hand. His speed is truly remarkable. However, what impressed me even more tonight was his capacity to bowl with remarkable discipline and control over length. The blend of accuracy and pace is truly impressive."
